About Me
Hi! I'm Christina Hopkins. I started English Explorers to create enjoyable English experiences for kids. I love teaching and have worked as a teacher for my entire adult life.
I am from the United States. I moved to the Basel area with my family in 2018. We've been really happy living and working here in Switzerland. My husband and I have two children, ages 10 and 11, one dog and one cat.
I have been teaching since 2004. I hold Bachelor of Science degrees in Teacher Education, Child Development, and Cognitive Studies. I also hold two Masters of Arts degrees in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I am certified to teach children ages Birth - Grade 4. I have a strong background in teaching Reading Intervention programs using Orton- Gillingham strategies. I have received 2 full years of training in Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia. I am currently a Certified Academic Language Therapist in Training. I am also certified to Teach English as a Foreign Language. If you would like to know more about my professional career please check out my LinkedIn Page link below.
I am thrilled to have begun my own program here in Switzerland. If you are interested in signing up your child or if you have any questions, please contact me:
